This week ThinkLab teachers and students led a teacher discussion on how student eportfolios can be used to add value to subject learning through reflection on the Areas of Interaction (AOI). The AOIs are an integral part of the school's formal International Baccalaureate curriculum. The objective of eportfolio developments across Grades 6 through 8 is the to support student-led conferences with their families in April next.
The presentation and discussions highlighted the possibilities for student engagement and reflection through digital learning, the importance of appropriate teacher tasking, and the teaching of language expectations. The latter will see greater emphasis on supporting students to communicate effectively their impressive digital work across all subjects.
